Our History
Dr. Nygaard opened her periodontal practice in Spokane Valley, July of 1995. She has been serving patients of the inland northwest for 29 years. Dr. Nygaard is delighted to have been joined by Dr. Poovey in July of 2022. Dr. Poovey and Dr. Nygaard share the same clinical training, board certification, desire for expectational patient care and service. Together they look forward to helping patients save teeth and improve their overall health for many years to come.

BOARD CERTIFIED PERIODONTIST
Lauralee Nygaard, DDS, MS
Dr. Nygaard is a Board Certified Periodontist, with three additional years of specialty training beyond dental school. Dr. Nygaard attended Loma Linda University where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Dr. Nygaard continued her education for three additional years at Loma Linda University in the graduate periodontics program for specialty training in periodontics, soft tissue procedures and implant dentistry where she earned a Certificate in Periodontics and a Masters of Science degree.
BOARD CERTIFIED PERIODONTIST
Nicholas Poovey, DDS, MS
Dr. Nicolas Poovey is a Board Certified Periodontist, with three additional years of specialty training beyond dental school and who specializes in Periodontics & Dental Implants. Dr. Poovey attended Loma Linda University where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. He was then accepted into the Advanced Periodontics and Implant Surgery program at Loma Linda University where he continued his training and received a Certificate in Advanced Periodontics and Implant Surgery.
